Friends/Allies:
• Allison Reynolds (Childhood friend. A native of Earth hailing from Sydney, Australia, Allison “Ally” Reynolds is as comfortable holding a marksman’s rifle as she is in the water or on a surfboard catching the roaring waves off the coast. An aspiring marine biologist, she took advantage of Alliance tuition programs to earn her degree before joining the Marines. Her talent as a wilderness survival expert earned her positions guarding researchers on remote fringe worlds, filled with challenging environmental conditions and fierce predators, and her proficiency with sniper rifles earned her the call sign Archer, and the more informal nickname “Goodnight Ally.” Her father is a captain in the Australian surface navy, while her mother works as a nurse in a local Sydney hospital. She and Blake have been best friends since elementary age. Develops a crush on James Vega that’s later reciprocated.)

• Jura Fraal (Once a Hegemony line soldier, Jura found his calling as a field medic. Where once he was just an average fighter, he was a master at saving lives. Though it pained him, he was also able to use his anatomical knowledge to kill enemies as quickly as he could heal allies. He only made it to the rank of sergeant, after a series of arguments with his commanding officers over the treatment of prisoners. Hegemony Intelligence suspected that he was a member of an anti-slavery movement within Batarian society, but nothing was proven. After being dishonorably discharged, Jura went to several planets that had been hit by Batarian pirate and slaver activity. Though many people showed him nothing but fear and hatred, Jura was still able to improve the lives of those who gave him a tiny bit of trust. Since his departure from the military, Jura has become a gruff, if affordable, sight within several mercenary companies as a freelancer. While he prefers to stay in the back, patching up the wounded, he is more than capable of handling himself in a fight. So long as a potential employer meets his price, and his ethical standards, he's your man.)

• Eriana Davos (A laid-back Asari and an ex-Huntress, Eriana left the Republics after growing tired of the Matriarch’s ‘stuffy and Goddess-damned prissy” attitudes of superiority… and to leave her past as an illegitimate daughter of the Dantius family behind her. She eventually established Argos Interstellar, a private secret service group in the guise of a shipping company, working exclusively with those in the Systems Alliance who believe, as she does, that you sometimes have to bend the rules to get the real results you need done. While prone to knocking back a few drinks most of the time, she runs a tight ship, but nevertheless treats her crew as family rather than co-workers. She loves teasing the gruff Jura, and harbors a soft spot for Krell. Learning about the Reapers from Blake and having the information confirmed by Commander Shepard, Eriana covertly snatched the Dantius company fortunes from her conniving sisters to help fund the effort to stop the Reapers.

• Nakmor Krell (A battle-harden, weapons savvy yet unusually optimistic former mercenary, Krell gave up his mercenary life to work with Eriana Davos and her private secret service. But don’t let this relaxed Krogan fool you; he’s still a soldier at heart, ready to bring the hammer down on those stupid enough to tangle with his crew. He’s as comfortable at the helm of a ship as he is taking enemy fire for his team. Rumor states he’s distantly related to a certain member of Clan Urdnot, but nothing has been confirmed yet.)

• Proxy (An advanced AI hidden within the body of a prototype combat mech far ahead of its time; found and reactivated by Blake after he discovered the mech in an abandoned secret lab in Sol’s Asteroid Belt. Proxy has no memory of who built him and for what purpose, but he is content to use his formidable talents and hidden weaponry to help the ones who woke him up. Although clearly built for waging war, Proxy develops an almost child-like curiosity in nature, and is often seen playing with Blake’s dog Winston.)

• James Vega – A fellow Marine, and another friend of Blake. Blake and James first met one another during training exercises with their squads. James, as was his personal habit when meeting new people, came up with the nickname ‘Blue’ for Blake, after finding out that his hair color was actually natural. Both became good friends, and would sometimes met for food and beer at one of their favorite bars back home on leave. In the chaos following the Reaper War, with the Normandy temporarily stranded on the other side of the damaged Relays, James was bunking out on the Aurora when the events that led them to the alternate reality where the nation of Gallia resides occurred. Becomes aware of Allison’s crush on him, and seems to reciprocate her feelings.

Personal Quote:
-"I can't handle the cities and those stuck-up socialites. Give me a lake, a boat, and a good day of fishing, and I'll show you what real honest-to-God living is all about.”

Bio:

Blake is a human biotic who has no recollection of his past life beyond age 6. All he had was a data module containing his name, date of birth, blood type, and very little else.

He wandered the streets of some of Earth's most dangerous cities, learning how to fight, scavenge, and repair things for survival and weathered discrimination for his biotic status for two long years, before he was saved from the 5th Street Reds by Johnathan Thompson, a recently discharged Marine and widower. Johnathan brutally beat down the young boy’s attackers, called the police, and then had a paramedic treat Blake for a knife injury to his face.

Realizing that Blake had no one to look after him, John adopted the boy as his own. John raised Blake on his property in Montana, teaching him hard work and self-reliance. Johnathan also helped Blake to accept his biotic gifts and not to be afraid of them; to him, it was the intentions of the person, not the power itself, which determined whether that power would be a force of destruction or a shield to protect others from harm.

As he grew up, Blake demonstrated great intelligence, a keen mind, and a talent for engineering alongside private interests in both history and natural sciences. Upon enlistment, the Alliance sent him to receive an engineering degree before deployment, and he later picked up combat engineering skills in the field.

He joined the Alliance military soon after he turned 18 alongside his childhood friend Allison Reynolds, becoming a biotic and tech specialist in the Marines. He met James Vega on tour during training exercises, where the older man gave him the nickname “Blue” due to his unusual hair color.

During his first six years of service, Blake found himself stationed in the Attican Traverse, frequently dealing with slavers, pirates, and mercenaries; in one of those encounters, Blake found himself suddenly thrust into command of the squad. While initially unsure, he quickly adapted and led his team to a decisive victory with little loss of life. His commanding officers praised him for his actions, but Blake was reluctant to take on such a daunting role ever again, and hoped he would never have to.

At one point, Blake, Allison and a fellow Marine named Sara Ryder were assigned to aid several Prothean artifact retrieval teams, and all three were eager to talk with the experts they worked alongside. This served to feed Blake’s interest in ancient history, as well as gift him with a thirst for exploration and adventure. Blake soon wanted to see more of what the galaxy had to offer, to, in his own words, ‘Find out what else was out there that God had left for us to find.’

It seemed Fate had such a plan in mind. In 2183, Blake was approached to be part of an Alliance security detail protecting archeologists after the discovery of a Prothean beacon on the colony of Eden Prime sent the Alliance scrambling to quickly recover the artifact before unscrupulous types caught wind of things.

What Blake did not know that that moment, however, was that this decision would be the beginning of a fantastic journey: one of danger and discovery, of terror and wonder, and that unknown to him, the events that followed would become the central key to the discovery of his lost family history, and the beginning of what will most certainly be the craziest and most fantastic adventure of his life.

Additional Observations:

• Blake’s physical appearance is that of a healthy young adult. While he is not super buff, Blake is definitely muscular enough from an active lifestyle of running, fighting, and working with heavy materials to be considered very attractive by most women he meets.

• His eyes are blue in color and his hair is an odd, dark midnight blue, almost black in color; it’s later revealed that he has Darcsen heritage. His hair is neither long nor short, but he does take care to keep it trimmed back to military regulations.

• Blake has a scar that runs across his face: it passes under his eyes and over the bridge of his nose. He got it as a kid after a 5th Street Red tried to kill him with a knife for being a biotic.

• When Blake is off duty, he always seen wearing sturdy work boots, a black short sleeve shirt, and comfortable dark green cargo pants. His Savant model omni-tool is designed looks like a thin black wrist band, much like the design of some digital watches, and he always wears it on his left arm. He also an extra omni-tool on-hand, but he usually keeps it in his pockets, unless handling extra work or combat conditions requiring him to use the added processing power to facilitate more attack options.

• He owns a brown vintage leather jacket Johnathan gave him as an 18th birthday gift. Jonathan also bought him a pocket watch, passing on a tradition that every Thompson man is gifted with a watch to mark their coming-of-age.

• He’s also seen with a knife holster looped around his belt that strapped to his right thigh. The knife itself was custom made to look like the UMSC Ka-Bar combat/utility knife, with a synthetic black handle made with comfort and stability in mind for the user. It was made by a family friend of the Thompsons, and given to Blake on the day he left to join the Marines.

• Perhaps the most unusual quality of all, Blake possesses a strange trait for a human biotic, as he does not require an implant to manifest his biotics like most of his fellow human biotics. The reasons for this unheard-of abnormality are still not currently well understood, but his Darcsen genetics might be the clue, as there is strong evidence that they slightly differ from average humans and Valkyria. The current theory is that Darcsens have dormant synaptic pathways that could have channeled exotic energy through their bodies like Valkyria; while they can’t seem to manipulate ragnite energy like the Valkyrur of old, this dormant system does seem to allow eezo nodes to manifest more naturally in a Darcsen’s nervous system, allowing them greater and more natural control of biotic abilities compared to other humans, perhaps to the level of most Asari. This raises the possibility that the Jaardan once experimented with the Darcsen to make them similar to the Valkyria, but later stopped researching ways to evolve this genetic trait for unknown reasons.
